YouTube's comment section isn't exactly known for being a hotbed of in-depth intellectual conversations. One of the reasons for this, some would argue, is the fact that YouTube still lets people post comments using handles like 'cutepuppies99' without having to reveal your real identity. Starting today, however, you will have the option to use your Google-wide Google+-based identity that will show your real name (or at least the name you are using on Google+) to all YouTube users.

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? Beyonce will battle her husband for video of the year at the BET Awards, and now both performers are confirmed to attend.

Beyonce is the second most nominated act. She's up for six awards. Jay-Z is nominated for five.

Kanye West leads the pack with seven.

Two of West and Jay-Z's collaborative songs are up for video of the year. Beyonce is also nominated twice in the category. The final nominee is Usher.

Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj and Usher are set to perform. And Whitney Houston's mother is part of a tribute for the late superstar that will include other singers.

Jamie Foxx, Quentin Tarantino and Tyler Perry will present awards. Samuel L. Jackson will host the show, which will be held Sunday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

JV girls soccer coach at Ontario Christian High arrested for lewd acts with a player

ONTARIO -- A girls junior varsity soccer coach at Ontario Christian High School has been arrested for allegedly committing lewd acts with a 14-year-old player.

Ontario Christian High officials have fired Earl Wayne Gann, 56, of Corona, who had a loaded firearm on him when he was arrested.

The school did not conduct a background check on Gann prior to his hiring about a year ago, Groen said.

"We're very sad to say in this situation we do not have a background check on file and we don't have it," Ontario Christian Schools Superintendent Ryan Groen.

"We're currently doing an internal investigation to discover why that is and correct that so it won't happen again."

Police officers started investigating Gann after he reportedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old Ontario Christian soccer player on June 15.

The next day, the victim told school authorities that Gann inappropriately touched and kissed her while she was alone with him in the school's training room, according to a police news release.

School administrators forwarded a report of the incident on June 18 to the San Bernardino County

Child Protective Services.

The agency then notified the Ontario police.

Detectives forwarded their case to the District Attorney's Office, which filed two felony counts of lewd acts with a child and issued a $750,000 warrant for Gann's arrest.

Gann was arrested without incident on Tuesday following a traffic stop conducted by Ontario police officers near his home in Corona.

The case will be forwarded to the Riverside County District Attorney's Office for review and filing of charges.

In a letter to parents, Groen wrote the administration had met with Gann and suspended "him from all interaction with his former soccer players.

"We are deeply saddened by these allegations and our prayers go out to any of our students or any other young people who may have been victimized."

Groen said his school customarily conducts background checks on faculty and staff members as well as coaches, volunteers or anyone who takes part in an overnight field trip.

Gann has coached the girls junior varsity soccer team for just the past year at the school.

Prior to that, he spent several years coaching in the American Youth Soccer Organization, and was most recently associated with the Eastvale/Norco AYSO region.

"He has been a parent in our school," Groen said.

"He's had girls who have played soccer and so we knew him as a parent and he was recommended that way."

Groen said the school will provide counseling to anyone in need of it because of the incident.

There's at least one person - the alleged victim - getting counseling outside of the school, he said.

Police officers have said Gann may have victimized other players or students, who might be reluctant to come forward and report the crime.

Growing Number Of Tourists Stealing Artifacts In Rome, Italy

For those who love admiring ancient artifacts, you may want to visit Rome while they're still there. According to police, there has been an outbreak of tourists stealing mosaic pieces, marble mile markers, cobblestones and other pieces of the city's history.

Luckily, airport security has been vigilant and is on the lookout for the items. In fact, they've been able to return a large amount of artifacts stolen in the last six months. Moreover, they're finding the majority of the thieves are travelers coming from Britain and northern Europe. These people are not arrested, but instead given a stern warning.

Says Police Chief Antonio Del Greco, "I can understand the legend and splendor that is Rome but that does not mean bits of it should be stolen ... If they want a souvenir of their visit then they should buy something from a shop."

Use white vinegar to perform routine cleanings on drip coffee makers; this will tackle mineral buildup, and coffee oil residue.

For anyone new to online dating, working out how to put together an eye-catching dating profile can be a minefield. A dating profile is your shop window on a dating site and if you get it wrong, you face being ignored by potential dates. But although the written portion of a dating profile is arguably very important, the pictures you post are the key to success on any dating website-most people look at pictures before they bother reading the text and a dodgy picture can spell disaster. So to avoid such mistakes, read my online dating tips and learn how to choose pictures to put on your profile.

Lots of people post terrible pictures on dating websites, and in many cases, they probably would have achieved better results by posting no pictures at all! But what types of pictures should be avoided at all costs when making a dating profile?

Dating profile pictures you should never use

1. Blurred or out of focus pictures so grainy it looks like you were in a sand storm when the photo was taken

2. Pictures woefully out of date by several decades-easy to spot because the picture has been scanned in from an old-fashioned Polaroid or your outfit in the picture is circa 1978

3. A long distance picture where you are a speck on the horizon and a fabulous sunset takes centre stage

4. Pictures of you and your ex in a soppy PDA

5. Pictures of you and your ex with him/her scrubbed out

6. Photo-shopped pictures with funny (not) additions

7. Avoid pictures of you propping up a bar with lots of empty glasses in the vicinity-potential dates will think you are a party animal or an alcoholic, and neither is likely to be very appealing

8. Pictures of you with your kids-never post pictures of your kids on dating websites as you run the risk of being targeted by paedophiles

9. Pictures of you in a crowd with no indication as to which person is you

10. Any picture featuring gratuitous nudity (unless you are on an adult dating site)

11. A picture of someone else much older or younger than your profile states

12. A picture of a model-type you cropped from the internet

How to choose pictures to put on your dating profile

They say one picture can speak a thousand words, and when it comes to dating profiles this is undeniably true. If you have the right picture, what you write in the rest of your profile is not half as important, especially if you are very attractive.

However, the most important picture on a dating profile is the headline photo. This is the picture potential dates see first and if they like this one, they will click on the rest of your profile to check you out. Use a head and shoulders shot for your main picture, preferably a good quality picture that portrays you in a flattering light, although stay away from professionally shot pictures as these usually look too fake. Always use a recent snap and make sure you are smiling! You want people to think you look approachable and friendly, so choose a relaxed shot where you look "happy".

When posting additional pictures, take the opportunity to include pictures that offer a greater insight into who you are and what makes you tick. For example, if you are into extreme sports, post some pictures of you jumping out of a plane or hang gliding across a gorge-anything to make you stand out from the rest. These pictures do not have to show your face up close and personal, but it helps if you are the main focus of the picture.

Please note: if your idea of fun is participating in blood sports, breeding pit bulls, or any other dubious hobbies, it is a good idea to avoid drawing attention to this by NOT including lots of pictures of you standing over the carcass of some dead animal or proudly holding your snarling ten-stone pit bull on the end of a chain. Stick to some more wholesome hobbies instead, or you run the risk of alienating a large number of potential dates.

It's a boy for Jason Lee and his wife Ceren! The couple announced to People?that their son, Sonny Lee, arrived Saturday, June 16, in Los Angeles. Sonny arrived at 2:57 a.m., and weighed in at 7 lbs., 6 oz.

The couple are also parents to daughter Casper, 3 1/2, and Lee's son Pilot Inspektor (from his prior relationship with Beth Riesgraf) is 8 1/2. Jason and Ceren have been married since July 2008. You can catch Jason on "Up all Night," which returns to NBC this fall.

State Spending for Weight-Loss Surgery ... - Body Health & Fitness

A Texas Tribune analysis of federal and state health care expenditures shows Medicare spending for weight-loss surgeries for Texas seniors ? including gastric bypass and gastric banding ? grew by nearly 400 percent between 2006 and 2010, to $1.7 million from $340,000. Since 2009, the number of bariatric procedures covered by Medicaid, the state health provider for the disabled and the very poor, has more than doubled. And annual Medicaid spending has jumped to $2.7 million from $290,000 in the last three years, the bulk of which was supplemental payments made to managed care plans.

This state subsidized weight-loss surgery has seen a boom in Hidalgo County along the Texas-Mexico border, where, according to Medicaid records, doctors have been reimbursed for 443 weight-loss surgeries in the last five years, at a cost of more than $340,000. That is dozens more ? and more than twice the cost ? than have been performed in Dallas County, which has nearly 150,000 more people on Medicaid than Hidalgo County.

Border surgeons say that they are simply responding to demand: Their region has the highest rate of Medicaid patients in the state, and patients roll into the medical hubs of McAllen and Edinburg from across southern Texas.

?There is no single diet right now that helps patients lose weight and keep it off,? said Dr. Luis Reyes, a McAllen bariatric surgeon who has filed nearly 300 Medicare and Medicaid claims for weight-loss surgeries over the last six years and earned about $220,000 for them, according to state and federal data. ?Bariatric surgery has been able to help these patients to lose weight, to keep it off and to get rid of their comorbidities, which are very expensive,? he said, referring to medical conditions caused by obesity.

And Medicare and Medicaid officials say Texas? overall numbers track with a state in which nearly two-thirds of adults and one-third of teenagers are either obese or overweight. Stephanie Goodman, spokeswoman for Texas? Health and Human Services Commission, said there is a higher incidence of diabetes along the border, ?so that may be why we?re seeing more of these surgeries in that region.?

But state lawmakers, who have set their sights on Medicaid as a way to curb out-of-control health care costs, are troubled by the spending on bariatric surgery. State Senator Jane Nelson, Republican of Flower Mound, who chaired a committee in the 2011 legislative session aimed at cutting Medicaid costs to help close the state?s budget gap, said lawmakers ?need to understand why we are seeing such a prevalence of these surgeries, especially in light of the rampant abuse of the system across the state.?

State Senator Dan Patrick, Republican of Houston, said that in light of The Tribune?s analysis, he asked H.H.S.C.?s inspector general to review the state?s bariatric surgery policy to ?ensure that any opportunities for fraud, waste or abuse are eliminated.?

Covering weight-loss surgery under state and federal health plans is a relatively new concept. Medicare started doing it in 2006; Medicaid covered it only on a case-by-case basis until opening it up in 2009.

While Medicare spending on bariatric surgeries in Texas has marched up steadily, Medicaid has seen a pronounced increase ? the result of the state making supplemental payments to managed care plans, which get paid set premiums and faced unanticipated costs due to the state?s decision to more widely cover weight-loss surgery. Those payments, which at a cost of $23,000 per surgery reached $2.3 million in 2011, ended last year, creating significant cost savings for the state.

Both Medicare and Medicaid require potential bariatric patients to meet what is designed to be a high bar. Patients must have a body mass index of at least 35, which is 210 pounds for someone who is 5-foot-5, and 245 pounds for someone who is 5-foot-10. They must have other comorbidities related to obesity, like sleep apnea and high blood pressure, and must have tried and failed other weight-loss regimens. Medicaid even covers teenagers, though they must have a B.M.I. of at least 40 and go through a special review. (Just four were covered in 2009, compared with 18 in 2011.)

Dr. Ernesto Garza Jr., a McAllen bariatric surgeon, said that as the medical field and patients themselves have become more comfortable with weight-loss surgery, Medicare and Medicaid have followed suit.

While it used to take three to four months for Medicare to approve a surgery, he said, now it takes three to four weeks. Though Medicaid requires evidence that patients have secondary conditions, he said, problems like joint pain, reflux and incontinence can qualify. ?It?s not really hard to find these issues,? Dr. Garza said, adding that 30 to 40 percent of the bariatric surgeries he performs are covered by Medicaid or Medicare, and that his patients live healthier lives post-surgery. ?You just have to ask the right questions.?

State and federal health officials say the financing for weight-loss surgeries has been a good investment. Ms. Goodman, of the Health and Human Services Commission, said that when they are used appropriately, surgeries reduce Medicaid costs.

?That?s because we reduce the number of expensive medications and treatments that are needed for the health conditions associated with obesity,? she said.

Dr. Erik B. Wilson, the medical director for bariatric surgery at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston, said that once someone reaches a B.M.I. over 30, the likelihood of that person being able to lose weight and keep it off plummets. Between 18 months and three years after a bariatric surgery, he said, the procedure has paid for itself. ?It?s a concept the public has a hard time getting its arms around,? he said, ?but it really is the best option for a lot of these patients.?

But there are critics who think the surgeries are not the best long-term approach for the state?s obesity problems, or its budget woes.

State Senator Bob Deuell, Republican of Greenville and a family physician, said that when Texas decided to start covering bariatric surgery under Medicaid, health officials assured lawmakers that it would only be used in extreme cases. Dr. Deuell said that it appears that threshold is not hard to meet.

Daniel O?Connor, an associate professor in the University of Houston?s department of health and human performance, said that although weight-loss surgery has clear benefits for individual patients, it is not a sustainable public-health intervention. Mr. O?Connor said the state could reach many more people with less expensive lifestyle interventions, and improve their health enough to save far more dollars than bariatric surgeries do.

?We need to determine what model we should use on a gross level, not a patient-by-patient level,? he said. ?We might be able to make them better enough with nonsurgical interventions that there?s still a significant health care saving to the state.?

University of North Dakota Drops Fighting Sioux Logo ? But is it Gone For Good?

Good afternoon, Atlantic Coast Conference and college sports fans.? Jeffrey Fann is on vacation this week and he has graciously give me the opportunity to post this week on All Sports Discussion.? This is a great sports blog and I appreciate the opportunity Jeff has given me.

Seven years ago, UND was told by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to retire the Fighting Sioux logo or risk severe penalties (UND, for example, would lose the opportunity to host NCAA regional hockey championships).? UND appealed the NCAA?s decision ? lost ? and then sued.? UND settled the lawsuit with the NCAA in 2007.? UND agreed that Fighting Sioux logo would be retired in three years, unless the three major tribes in North Dakota approved of its use.? Please see more about the legal battles here.? Under the terms of the settlement, the NCAA gave North Dakota three years to obtain permission from two major Sioux tribes. One tribe approved, but the second never voted on the request.? Thus, in December 2010, UND was forced to take actions to drop the logo. ? The logo, however, was un-retired the first time in March 2011 after state lawmakers passed a bill requiring UND to use the logo.? In November 2011, the North Dakota legislators changed course and retired the logo again.? In February 2012, logo supporters then gathered enough signatures to force the statewide vote.

About three weeks ago on this site, I made a pitch on this site to North Dakota voters to vote ?Yes? and retire the Fighting Sioux logo.? My major arguments were that UND would lose its invite to the Big Sky Conference, see its athletic revenue would decrease significantly, become isolated from athletic and academic partnerships, and basically become a little brother to North Dakota State University.

Let me tell you ? those North Dakota voters have some sense ? they voted by a 70-30 margin to retire the Fighting Sioux logo. ?Under the terms of the vote, UND cannot pursue a new nickname/logo until January 1, 2015 (this will ensure that a cooling off period is in place).

Yet, even with this 40 point loss, there are still some supporters that plan to bring forth a vote on an amendment to the North Dakota Constitution to require use of the Fighting Sioux logo.? Tomorrow, in part two of this segment, I?ll outline what the UND athletic world would look like if it were forced to retain the Fighting Sioux logo.? Specifically, I?ll develop a travel itinerary for Sean Johnson, spokesman for the Spirit Lake Committee for Understanding and Respect (and a lead supporter of the constitutional amendment I spoke of above).? He will need to know the most cost effective travel methods to get to Newark, NJ for that new heated rivalry with the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Wade?s knee may keep him out of London Games

MIAMI (AP) ? Dwyane Wade is unsure if he will be able to compete in the London Olympics.

The Miami Heat guard told The Associated Press on Friday that he will soon have his ailing left knee examined, and acknowledges that surgery might be a possibility.

Wade played through pain in this year?s playoffs, helping the Heat win the NBA Finals for the second time. Wade appeared in all 23 postseason games for Miami, averaging 22.8 points.

Wade says he isn?t sure what the exact problem is with his knee, which was drained during the second round of the playoffs. He says he wants to play in the Olympics again, like he did when the Americans won bronze at Athens in 2004 and the ?Redeem Team? took gold at Beijing in 2008.

With over 100K apps in the Marketplace, the Windows Phone is certainly making the right noises and there are plenty of apps made by innovative Windows Phone developers to choose from. Here are some of the best apps which are available for free!

1. Spotify
Spotify is an awesome app for the Windows Phone platform and actually works fantastically well with Lumia 800. You can enjoy your existing playlists or search and add music. Mortgage Fraud Blog - Real Estate Agent Sentenced for Mortgage ...

Vickie Kay Lind, 48, Branson, Missouri, a real estate agent, has been sentenced in federal court for her role in a $391,519 mortgage fraud scheme.

As previously reported on Mortgage Fraud Blog, on October 28, 2011, Lind pleaded guilty to participating in a wire fraud conspiracy and a money laundering conspiracy from August 1 to October 3, 2005. In addition to the two conspiracies, Lind pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of money laundering.

Lind, a realtor who did business as My Realty Company LLC, defrauded First Magnus Financial Corporation in Overland Park, Kansas, by submitting fraudulent documentation in order to obtain $391,519 in mortgage loans for an Ozark, Missouri, residence.

In order to obtain the loans, Lind provided false documentation that an individual was leasing the property for $3,500 per month. First Magnus Financial Corporation approved the buyer's loan application on the strength of the $3,500 per month lease agreement. First Magnus would not have approved the loan application without this lease agreement, because the buyer's debt to income ratio was too high.

Without the lender's knowledge, Lind obtained $70,000 from the loan proceeds, while the seller of the property only received approximately $310,000. Lind submitted fraudulent invoices for work allegedly performed by two companies, Elite Home Alliance and Gold Pointe Homes. In reality, neither company performed any work to justify these payments. Elite Home Alliance, Lind's own company, received $25,000, which Lind used for her own benefit. Gold Pointe Homes received $45,000, which was used to repay a loan made by a friend in Arizona to the buyer, which allowed Lind to live in the residence rent free, until it could be sold for a profit. Lind also received the real estate commissions on the sale of the home.

Lind declared bankruptcy in October 2005. The buyer could not make the monthly mortgage payments, nor could he sell the residence, and the property went into foreclosure. As a result, First Magnus Financial Corporation lost $70,426.

David M. Ketchmark, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri made the announcement.

Branson was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard E. Dorr to 18 months in federal prison without parole. The court also ordered Lind to pay $70,426 in restitution.

This case was prosecuted by Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael S. Oliver. It was investigated by IRS-Criminal Investigation and the FBI.

MEXICO CITY (AP) ? Mexican marines on Thursday detained a young man they believe is one of the sons of Mexico's most-wanted drug kingpin, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, leader of the powerful Sinaloa cartel.

The presumed son, identified by the Navy as Jesus Alfredo Guzman Salazar, 26, was allegedly taking on an increasing leadership role in Mexico's most powerful drug cartel and purportedly served as the administrator of his father's fortune, estimated by Forbes magazine at about $1 billion.

The boyish, heavyset Guzman Salazar, known as "El Gordo," or "Fattie," was captured early Thursday during a raid by marines in Zapopan, an upscale suburb of the western city of Guadalajara, thanks to intelligence work and information from U.S. authorities, Navy spokesman Jose Luis Vergara said at a news conference.

Also captured in the raid was an alleged 19-year-old Sinaloa cartel member, Kevin Daniel Beltran R?os. The pair was caught with a grenade launcher and four grenades, two assault rifles, two pistols and $135,000 in cash.

Vergara said Guzman Salazar was "a key element" in the Sinaloa cartel, "not just because of his blood tie to the leader ... but because he was presumably in charge of managing his assets."

"Intelligence sources say that Guzman Salazar was coordinating the majority of the drug shipments sent to the United States by the Sinaloa cartel, including cocaine and heroin," Vergara said, adding that "several sources also say Guzman Salazar was taking increasing control of Sinaloa cartel operations."

When he was paraded before news media, the paunchy Guzman Salazar mostly kept his eyes down or closed. Dressed in a red polo shirt and jeans, he did not answer when asked where his father is.

Vergara said the capture was due to months of Navy intelligence work and information from U.S. authorities. He said Guzman Salazar is wanted in the United States on an outstanding extradition request, to face charges in Chicago, Illinois related to drug trafficking.

Guzman Salazar and his father were indicted on multiple drug trafficking charges in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in August 2009, the U.S. Treasury Department said earlier this month, when it announced it had placed financial sanctions on Guzman Salazar and his mother, Maria Alejandrina Salazar Hernandez.

The designation bars American citizens from doing business with them and allows authorities to freeze their assets in the U.S.

U.S. authorities have said they believe "El Chapo" Guzman has at least six children with three women, including a woman whom he married in 2007 and who last year gave birth to twin girls in California. The Treasury Department described Salazar Hernandez, 53, as a wife of Guzman, without providing details.

A senior U.S. law enforcement official in Mexico who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons said that U.S. officials believe the younger Guzman "oversaw many of the drug transportation and money laundering operations ... (and) operated from Jalisco, Colima and Sinaloa" states.

In May, the department announced similar sanctions against Guzman's sons Ivan Archivaldo Guzman Salazar, 31, and Ovidio Guzman Lopez, 22.

Ivan Archivaldo Guzman Salazar, also known as "El Chapito," was also detained in Zapopan, in Jalisco state, on money laundering charges in Mexico in 2005, but was later released. Guzman Lopez plays a significant role in his father's drug trafficking activities, the department said.

Another son, Edgar Guzman Lopez, was killed in 2008 in a gunfight in the parking lot of a shopping center in the Sinaloa state capital of Culiacan. Authorities recovered more than 500 bullet casings from AK-47 rifles from the site where the capo's son laid dead in a pool of blood.

"El Chapo" Guzman was put on the Treasury Department's list in 2001, the year he escaped from a maximum security prison hidden in a laundry truck. He has evaded authorities ever since, moving from hideout to hideout as he directs the operations of his cartel and a fight against rivals that has left thousands of people dead across Mexico.

The western state of Jalisco ? where Guzman Salazar was arrested ? as well as the nearby states of Colima, Nayarit and Sinaloa have seen a spike in drug-related killings in the last few years as the Sinaloa drug cartel battles its former allies in the Beltran Leyva cartel and its archrival the Zetas drug gang.

Similar battles have been seen in the northern border state of Coahuila, where nine people were killed Thursday in a pair of shootouts between police and gunmen on one of the main avenues in the state capital, Saltillo.

State security spokesman Sergio Sisbeles said eight suspected gunmen and one civilian who was caught in the cross fire died. The shootouts started after police tried to stop a sport utility vehicle, whose occupants opened fire.
