ONE Direction hunk Niall Horan?s Twitter army continues to grow ? with NINE MILLION fans now following him.
The Little Things singer, 19, from Mullingar, gained almost one million followers in the past month as his band continues to go from strength to strength.
And he revealed his surprise yesterday at topping the nine million mark, making him by far the most-followed Irish person on the social-networking site.
He said: ?Holy poop! I just noticed I have 9million followers! Thank you soo much guys! Best fans on planet.?
Niall is currently busy preparing for his upcoming Take Me Home world tour with the band. The boyband favourite will head out on the road with bandmates Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles next month to promote their recent second album.
And Niall told how he?s delighted with the progress the group are making with their preparations.
He tweeted: ?Rehearsals goin really well for tour! Settin down vocals and harmonies at the moment!?
The band?s world tour kicks off at London?s O2 in February and sees the group play 100 DATES at arenas around the globe until October.
Niall recently revealed how the band owe much of their success to Twitter as it allowed them to reach out to fans in other parts of the world.
He said: ?We owe a lot of our success to Twitter and YouTube and the fans spreading the word there.?
The second most popular Irish Twitter personality is golf No1 Rory McIlroy with 1.4million followers.
Other big-name tweeters include Eurovision stars Jedward fall shy of the million mark with 737,000 fans and Una Healy from the Saturdays who has 579,000 fans.
