It takes a long time to do a good blog post, at least for me it does. There?s more to it than meets the eye. And, life gets in the way of a good blog post sometimes.
I?m back, and I?m changing it up a bit with some posts about cool things going on around town, and also hair and beauty tips and product reviews. Beauty is my real specialty, and I love a great beauty deal and hope you do to.
So let?s get on with it.
Lately I have discovered a couple of things of interest in Bellevue.
One of my favorite new businesses for a rigorous, sweat fest and mega calorie burn is Flywheel, home of stadium style cycling.? There is a studio in Seattle and one in Bellevue.
It?s a super efficient way to burn up to 1000 calories in an hour and it can be very meditative because you can?t see much in the dark workout room..which is a good thing. Everyone is working hard and the music is cranked.
This place specializes in serious workouts that are so much fun you don?t know how hard you are working. From the dark workout room and great music, to the incredibly motivating instructors, this place takes the workout to a new level. You control how hard you want to work and how competative you want to be?or not.
It?s a bit on the expensive side, but they offer different packages that bring the prices down a bit. These workouts are worth every penny. Your first class is FREE! Sign up online.
Flywheel also offers Flybarre, a toning class which I have not tried yet, but plan to when I have some extra time.
Flywheel provides towels, water, shoes, and post workout fruit and snacks, gratis.
For music lovers, there is not much going on in the Eastside as you may have noticed. What is UP with that?
There are a sprinkling of places in Issaquah such as Vino Bella, Amante?s, and Pogacha which have great tribute and dance bands for the over 40 crowd. If you want to get your groove on baby boomers then get out and hear The Big Dog Revue. Made up of local NW rock and roll musicians this band will get you off your butt with their set list of 60s and 70s dance classics like Brick House and Only the Beginning by Chicago. They have a horn section!
Right in downtown Bellevue we have a great place for top quality music which reminds me of a smaller version of Jazz Alley called Bake?s Place on 107th.
Bake?s Place is a place I love to go to hear jazz, and sometimes they rock it out with soul and? 70?s tribute band Ventura Highway Revisited, plus many other types of music.

The food is great too. My fave is the Bake?s Burger: BAKE?S BURGER $14
Demi, bleu cheese cream fingerling potatoes, roasted shallots, seasonal vegetable.
Many evenings there is NO COVER. Just the right atmosphere for a first date, or to hang out with friends for a relaxing evening.
